Sun Artwork Sought for Traveling Art & Photography Exhibit

The Regional Chronic Disease Coalition of Somerset & Morris Counties wants to raise awareness about sun safety through the visual medium of the arts. The Coalition seeks artistic interpretations of the sun and its rays to be used on portable banners and exhibit stands for the distribution of health-related information. In addition, artwork will be selected for a travelling exhibit that will be featured at venues throughout Somerset and Morris Counties.

Submissions are sought from residents that live, work or attend classes in Somerset and Morris Counties. Artwork can be real or abstract and can be in the form of photography, drawings, paintings and digital art. The deadline for submissions for the RAYS (”Raising Awareness of Your Sun Safety”) traveling art & photography exhibit is Sunday, March 31

All artwork must be submitted digitally through Creative Spaces website at: http://nancyedwardsart.com/rays.html.  Submissions should be saved as 11x14, 300 dpi in JPG format at the highest quality (12). File names should be in the following format: LastName_FirstName_Title.jpg. Residents can submit up to three images.

Artwork that is selected for a travelling exhibit must be ready for hanging.  Photography should be 11x14 and placed with black or white matting in a 16x20” black metal frame, and wired for hanging. Art can be up to 24.” A mini art series should be 8” x 8” square, any medium.

All artwork must be original. All submissions must be appropriate for public viewing by minors. If the image includes people, the artist is responsible for obtaining necessary releases from the individuals depicted.
