North Plainfield Police Chief William Parenti announced the North Plainfield Police Department Traffic Safety Division is continuing to investigate a motor vehicle accident involving a motorist and a pedestrian on November 13.   

The North Plainfield Police Department responded to the report of an accident a short distance from the intersection of Watchung Avenue and Jackson Avenue at 5:00 pm Thursday, November 13.  It was determined that a vehicle north bound on Watchung Avenue struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The vehicle operator, Iris Venture, 51 years of age of Plainfield, remained on the scene and spoke with the Police.  The pedestrian, a 14 year old male from North Plainfield, was treated by the North Plainfield Fire Department and transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. His name is being withheld due to his status as a juvenile. The juvenile remains hospitalized at RWJ Hospital in New Brunswick. The driver of the car, Iris Venture, has not been charged with any motor vehicle violations at this time.  Chief Parenti said the investigation is active and ongoing.
